Dr. Penelope Brooks is the esteemed Head of the Department of Law and Legal Studies at Denver Liberty University, where she has made significant contributions to the field of legal education for over two decades. Her career is distinguished by her expertise in constitutional law, legal theory, and the intersection of law with social justice.
Dr. Brooks joined Denver Liberty University in 2002 as a faculty member in the Law and Legal Studies Department. Over the years, she has taught a range of courses, including Constitutional Law, Legal Theory, and Comparative Legal Systems. Her innovative teaching methods and deep commitment to student development have earned her recognition as one of the university’s most respected educators.
Dr. Brooks’ research focuses on the role of law in promoting social equity and justice. She is the author of the acclaimed book Law and Social Justice: A Historical Perspective (Harvard University Press, 2018), which explores the historical evolution of legal frameworks aimed at advancing social justice. Her scholarly work also includes numerous articles in prestigious legal journals and contributions to various academic conferences.
